Final Game and Pizza Party with the sponsor.

The Salvatores played their last game of the summer season, losing to the Eagles as threatening skies hovered overhead.
After the game, they went to their sponsors restaurant, Salvatores Pizza and had pizza and soda. They presented him with a plaque of appreciation for sponsoring them this season.
They also gave me, quite unexpectedly, a gift card for dinner at Appleby's. All the parents wanted to do it and I'm grateful for it. I feel like I should be thanking them for allowing me to be a part of their season.

Last Practice-Season coming to an end.

"Coach always tell me to keep my eye on the ball."
The Sals had their last practice last night. One more game to go, Thursday vs the Eagles with whom they have previously split in their 2 meetings.
After they game, they are all going to their sponsors Pizza Place to celebrate.

Salvatores play a big game.

The Salvatores were playing the League Leading Sharks on July 1st in their next to last game. If they won it, they would be in a tie for First Place.
At first, they didn't seem like they were into the game. But later on, their bats woke up and they trailed by one run at their final at bat.
Hits by Ryan and Nick drove the runs in, the Salvatores won the game 7-6.

Warrenton Casey's General Store Shoot 06-22

Drove out to Warrenton on the hottest day of the year (so far) to do these shots of the Casey's General Store team for Coach Jen Loggeman. It was immediately apparent that my time with the Salvatores had paid off and I was abe to get some good shots.

Easy victory Weds. Night but...

The Salvatores had a pretty easy night winning over the Cobra's bigtime. The Cobra's, however, had both of their starting pitchers absent and had to make do with the players they had.

Great defensive effort seals a win for the Salvatores.

The Salvatores knocked several line drives down and kept them in the infield, thus limiting the scoring chances of the Wildcats and winning the game.

An emotional loss to the Eagles

After leading 6-0 at one point, the Salvatores let their emotion get the best of them and the Eagles came back, winning the game 10-6.

05-25 Practice

A light practice tonight to tune up for the big game tomorrow night. They're playing the #1 Sharks who are 4-1. The Salvatores are 3-1. Should be a good game.

Sunday's Make-Up Game- Salvatores win again!

Coach Miller follows the game.

Nick loosens up on-deck.

Matt gives Graham a hand after Graham reaches 3rd base.

Telling jokes in the dugout.
Playing in what turned out to be the warmest day so far of the season, the Salvatores won again against the Cobra's. The players withstood the 92 degree heat and a late charge but pulled out another win. They were leading by 9 runs when the heat got to them and most stopped playing. The coaches did an excellent job getting the boys fired-up again to have a good final inning to win the game.

Hitting Practice

Had a practice last night. They did a little infield but mostly practiced on hitting, telling strikes from balls.
They are supposed to have a game tonight, but it rained really last night so I don't know if it'll be dry enough for them to play.

Practice 1 May 4, 2010

The Team had practice tonight over at a Middle School. They started out by warming-up their arms, just short throws.
The coach wanted to practice baserunning, especially to 1st and they were not running thru the base. Every team member ran to first at least 4 times and a couple of the guys more because they were dogging it.
A short water break was followed by Coach Miller explaining what they had accomplished that day and in the previous days game. Next practice is next Tuesday with a game on Wednesday.
