Game #5 vs Sharks

The boys played a good game but the Sharks had too many good hitters and the Salvatores lost this one, 16-10.

05-25 Practice

A light practice tonight to tune up for the big game tomorrow night. They're playing the #1 Sharks who are 4-1. The Salvatores are 3-1. Should be a good game.

Sunday's Make-Up Game- Salvatores win again!

Coach Miller follows the game.

Nick loosens up on-deck.

Matt gives Graham a hand after Graham reaches 3rd base.

Telling jokes in the dugout.
Playing in what turned out to be the warmest day so far of the season, the Salvatores won again against the Cobra's. The players withstood the 92 degree heat and a late charge but pulled out another win. They were leading by 9 runs when the heat got to them and most stopped playing. The coaches did an excellent job getting the boys fired-up again to have a good final inning to win the game.

Rainout

Tonight's game was rained out. The field was a muddy mess.

Hitting Practice

Had a practice last night. They did a little infield but mostly practiced on hitting, telling strikes from balls.
They are supposed to have a game tonight, but it rained really last night so I don't know if it'll be dry enough for them to play.

Practice 1 May 4, 2010

The Team had practice tonight over at a Middle School. They started out by warming-up their arms, just short throws.
The coach wanted to practice baserunning, especially to 1st and they were not running thru the base. Every team member ran to first at least 4 times and a couple of the guys more because they were dogging it.
A short water break was followed by Coach Miller explaining what they had accomplished that day and in the previous days game. Next practice is next Tuesday with a game on Wednesday.

Game # 3 vs Cobra's

Another winning effort last night against the Cobra's. The boys showed some good judgement in the box and took their walks. The also had a couple of pretty good hits. Everyone continues to improve, a lot due to peer pressure, wanting to play more and play better.
I don't like the diamond they were at for this game though, the sun is in the batters eyes and the fielders are terribly backlit. The next game is on this field too, so I'll try to get everyone batting and another, better silhouette picture of the pitcher.
